Seventh Generation Award
Graduation Matters St. Ignatius
Since 2013, St. Ignatius School has increased its graduation rate from 78.1 percent to 87.1 percent, and its 2015 American Indian student graduation rate was 12 points above the state rate, at 78 percent. Last fall, the middle school reported it has closed the educational achievement gap between native and non-native students who took the Measure of Academic Progress exam. St. Ignatius has integrated its Graduation Matters work with its Montana Behavioral Initiative work, placing student voice and leadership at center of their efforts to stymie bullying, piloting OPI’s innovative on-time Early Warning System, and reaching out to local businesses to support “DAWGS Tags” – acknowledging good behavior in the school and community.
