🌟 Staff Spotlight: Ms. Demi Smith 🌟

We are so excited to introduce our new 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Demi Smith! This is her very first year teaching, and we are thrilled she chose to begin her journey right here in our district.

✨ What inspired her to become a teacher?
Ms. Smith has always loved kids and loved school. She was inspired by her mom—“the BEST teacher”—and hopes to follow in her footsteps.

📸 Hidden talent/hobby:
Outside of the classroom, MS. Smith is a talented photographer! What started as a college side job has grown into both a passion and part-time career.

🕵️ If she wasn’t teaching…
She thinks she’d make a pretty great FBI agent (and we believe her!).

✈️ Dream vacation:
Exploring the beautiful sights of Greece.

We’re so grateful to have Ms. Smith as part of our school family—her enthusiasm and heart for kids make her a perfect fit for our community! 💙

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Kirsten Hawkaluk 🌟

This week we’re celebrating Mrs. Hawkaluk, one of our amazing 1st grade teachers!

Mrs. Hawkaluk has been teaching for 21 years, with most of her career spent in first grade. She says first graders are her favorite because they grow and learn so much in just one year—and she especially loves teaching children how to read. As a child, reading was one of her favorite hobbies, so it feels natural that she now gets to share that same love with her students every day. 📚✨

If she weren’t a teacher, Mrs. Hawkaluk says she would probably be a scientist! She began in college studying molecular biology and still loves exploring science and sharing “cool discoveries” with her students. 🔬🌱

We are so lucky to have Mrs. Hawkaluk on our team and in our classrooms, inspiring our young learners! ❤️

The Middle School's first Just Desserts honoring took place today. Students were recognized for their hard work, going above and beyond, taking care of business among other things. They all had a little dessert and got to hear their teachers talk about the great things they're doing. #gobulldogs

Mrs. Matt's Family and Consumer Science Classes (Home Ec) have been busy at work this fall. We've been fortunate to have farm to table opportunities. Lots of locals donating fresh produce for our classes to use in their cooking days. Today we had Mr. Marchant give a lesson on roasting peppers, with peppers grown in the school garden. Life skills these kids can use forever. #farmtotable #gobulldogs #healthyeating
